To help create balanced teams for the U5 and U6 recreational age groups, KYSO is conducting a player assessment on Monday August 12 at the KYSO fields at Kaneland High School.
The U5 age group is for children with birthdates after August 1, 2008 and will be held from 5pm - 6:15pm.
The U6 age group is for children with birthdates betwen August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008 and will run from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.
Children born prior to July 31, 2007 or who are entering First grade are in older age groups and are not included in this assessment.
Please plan on arriving a few minutes early to check in. Also, all children should bring their soccer ball, a water bottle and shinguards. All shinguards should be worn under their socks.
During the assessments, Brad Simmons, the Director of Club Soccer, will be meeting with parents to explain what to expect from KYSO this fall, the philosophy behind the assessments and player development, how the league will be supporting coaches and a general Q&A.
By Tuesday August 13, each child will be assigned a team and coach. Your coach will then be in contact with additional details for the fall.
Game and practice schedules will be provided by the weeknd of August 17.
If you have a conflict, KYSO will assign your child to a team and the trainers will conduct assessments during practices. It is possible that some children may be asked to move to a team that is a better fit.
